A senior citizen stands in front of a cashier, in his neighborhood corner store with a pack of peanut on the counter. With his wallet wide open and one hand in his pant pocket, he discovers that he has no money to pay for the peanut. Overcome by fear, he went home, searched again, and found none.
With A MATTER OF FAITH, once a sought after engineer in the High Tech industry Chuks I. Ndukwe recounts vividly how his faith saved him from homelessness.
Newark, NJ – Summer 2007 – getting broke to the last penny is expected from teenagers, but not from a 65‐year‐old High Tech manager. When Chuks lost his job, and a franchise he bought with his life savings in 2001, he managed to survive by doing menial jobs. But six years later, he is still jobless miserable and wondering, “What next?”
Frustrated and with no money in the bank and nobody to turn to, he invokes one thing he can count on—his faith. It seems as though the universe is sending Chuks a message. Miraculously, before dawn, he is back to having money in his wallet; enough to buy a few packs of peanut.
A MATTER OF FAITH: How God Saved Me From Homelessness and Wondering: “What Next” (Ikebiebooks, ISBN: 978-0-9990705-7-4, $9.99) is the inspiring story of one man who refuses to give up even as his world tumbles.
From manager to a few hours from knocking at the door of a homeless shelter to ask for a bed, and now author, Chuks reminds us that faith can help us overcome what seems like an insurmountable obstacle.
